About the Artist

To me, the best part of painting is that I never stop learning. Everything I see tells a story and there is beauty everywhere. I continuously am experimenting with color and techniques to achieve just the right look. The painting process is continuous pushing and pulling of color.

Alberta has some wonderful, dramatic skies. I like to capture the turbulent storms, the calm breeze and the northern lights with their dance of colors. The pinks, purples, teals, oranges, grays inspire my creativity with freedom and imagination. Through my paintings I try to capture and express these natural wonders. Even if it's only a tiny fragment of god's world I strive to show the realism of nature in all my work. The skies are my biggest inspiration because of their continuous change in beauty.

My work shows a connection between the land and those who inhabit them. Some paintings depict the untamed world of nature, some with a romantic setting and others as sites visited by family and friends. I like this style particularly to promote the beauty in the detail. People have said that they are able to feel a deeper connection with these paintings because of familiarity of the setting. There are so many wonders in this world I can't imagine capturing it all.

In the future, I hope to devote more and more time to my passion.
